THE P.E.R.I. MISSION STATEMENT
To promote and maintain the unity of the Public Employees Retirement Systems service, disability, and survivor beneficiaries; for the purpose of staying informed in all matters which may affect pensions and healthcare benefits; for the ultimate purpose of efficiently and effectively communicating our members view point on each issue to the Ohio General Assembly and/or the Administrators of the Public Employees Retirement System of Ohio.
PERI,has eight goals to constantly guide them
toward the achievement of their mission
- To recruit the membership of every person eligible for service, disability, or survivor benefits from the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
- To maintain the association's membership records.
- To maintain the association's financial records.
- To seek and remain knowledgeable of legislation and/or other issues that may impact O.P.E.R.S.'s pensions or benefits.
- To inform the members of P.E.R.I. about legislation and/or other issues that may impact their O.P.E.R.S. pensions or benefits.
- To educate and/or assist P.E.R.I.s members in the most effective methods of communicating their view points to the proper Legislator or O.P.E.R.S. Administrator.
- To inform P.E.R.I. members of the benefits of local chapter participation, and to encourage active members to aspire to local leadership positions.
- To conduct periodic operational training programs for Officers, District Representatives, and Chapter Officers.
